If you’ve been involved in the manufacturing arena for any amount of time, you know how important it is to be able to measure and verify the accuracy of your precision machined components. The machine shop that you work with needs to be able to withstand the toughest audits and must display a commitment to continuous improvement, even under the most grueling conditions. As of 2022, Cision’s new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software is directly connected to our quality management system. This allows us to fully integrate our databases for part history, inspection data, and full metric monitoring.

Before you select a precision machine shop for your next project, ask them to show you how they manage their data and, more importantly, ask if they can prove what they say. When you start drilling down, you may be shocked to discover how many of them simply cannot measure what they make or collect, monitor, and adjust during production. At Cision, we take our quality very seriously, so you get what you expect, every single time. We don’t just want to be your supplier, we want to be the most reliable supplier in your chain.

Prototyping

For many, prototyping is the most exciting part of the entire product development process. But, if you’ve ever been through it, you know it’s not always neat and tidy. Depending on who is involved, prototyping can be a messy process from which a product eventually emerges after a lengthy series of trials and errors.

We don’t think that approach is very efficient.

Because we prefer products that work, we think the prototyping process should work, as well. And, frankly, we have strong feelings about what that means. To us, it involves talking to each other and keeping everyone in the loop. We want to take the time to understand the prototype. And, we want to use that understanding to make good choices. For us, this approach pays big dividends because you end up with parts that work, are cost effective, and are smart to build. That’s how we see it and, with our extensive experience in the manufacturing process, that’s what you will get.

Production

Whether you need fifty pieces of an item or a thousand pieces a week, Cision is serious about supplying our customers with the level of production that they need. Nearly everyone understands that the economies of scale tell us that more is better when it comes to efficiency and cost. But, we also know that you only need what you need.

This is where Cision comes in.

We offer multiple options to ensure that you get the most for your money, including small batches, blanket orders, scheduled release dates, and other managed inventory. We can tailor these options to fit your individual circumstances and, above all else, we can sync them to keep pace with your demand. Whatever you need, whenever you need it, however you need it, you can be confident that our team can deliver.

Quality

The ability to do top-grade work is a good thing. But, the ability to prove that it is top-grade is even better. Because of our own need for extremely accurate measurement of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, as well as the ability to reverse engineer components, we acquired a Micro-Vu Excel Vision System. This system, outfitted with an optional probe, gives us a tremendous amount of precise information that can be utilized in a number of different ways.

This technology gives us the ability to visually see the features and take measurements with a unique combination of magnification lenses, high-end cameras, and complex lighting. Not only does this help us to duplicate complex parts, it helps us verify that what we ship to our customers will meet their specifications.
